BIO

Pip Preece graduated in Fine Art with BA (Hons) Class 1 in 2012.

Her piece ‘Relaxing Dancer’ was shortlisted and exhibited by the Royal Academy’s A-Level Summer Exhibition Online, in 2008.

From 2008-09 she studied at Winstanley College where she achieved the Kate Bentham Award for her work.

Currently Pip Preece lives and works in North West England as a Secondary and Sixth Form Art and Textiles Teacher, figurative/ portrait artist, pet pawtrait artist, past member of Tate Collective Liverpool, curator, speaker and workshop leader.

She works with oil paint, graphite, coloured pencil and digital media to produce colourful artworks in styles inspired by several genres; from the Old Masters’ Chiaroscuro to Peter Doig’s bright contemporary paintings, mixed with an attention to, and passion for the finer details.

She believes that a portrait can say so much more about a being than a photograph can, and prides herself in her ability to capture the personality of her subjects, generating an artefact which can be treasured for a lifetime as a legacy to its sitter.
